Please Note: This is a temporary position that is expected to last several weeks but may last up to six months.

The county's Home-Rule Charter, approved by voters in November 1980, separated executive and legislative duties by establishing a County Executive and a seven-member County Council.

Core Daily Responsibilities:

Greets visitors, directs phone calls to appropriate staff, Council office, or county department, and performs other general office duties.

Keeps logs and maintains database of legislative materials.

Gathers, prepares and distributes informational packets for, and coordinates, various meetings of the Council.

Attends assigned meetings of the County Council; creates agenda, packet and drafts and submits meeting minutes/summaries for review.

Prepares and distributes memoranda, correspondence, legal notices, and other documents.

Establishes and maintains specialized files and filing systems including confidential, subject specific, and legal documents.

Certifies and attests to documents.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

1 year of experience performing administrative assistant tasks using modern practices, equipment, software, and communication devices

Exceptional communications skills, both written and verbal.
