The Role

General Motors is seeking skilled Industrial Electrician Journeypersons to join our dynamic team. As an Electrician Journeyperson, you will work with minimal supervision and be responsible for the installation, repair, and preventative maintenance of complex electrical equipment and circuits. Your expertise will be crucial in troubleshooting technical issues within control systems.

Primary Responsibilities:
• Adhere to all safety procedures in line with OSHA standards and company regulations.
• Maintain and repair electrical equipment effectively.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical malfunctions in equipment, ensuring quick resolution to prevent production delays.
• Conduct preventative and corrective maintenance on all plant equipment.
• Foster teamwork and collaborate with other departments.
• Engage in continuous improvement initiatives.
• Read and interpret electrical drawings and wiring schematics accurately.
• Exhibit strong problem-solving abilities.

Minimum Qualifications:
• A minimum of six (6) years of relevant experience as an Electrician, or possess a U.S. Department of Labor Certificate of Completion in the electrical trade.
• Must successfully complete General Motors' hiring process, including assessments, drug testing, and a background check.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Eligible to work in the United States.
• Availability for flexible shifts, including days, afternoons, and nights, with overtime on short notice.

• This role may be filled as either a Journeyperson or a Journeyperson In Training, with compensation ranging from $36.68 to $43.67 based on credentials and interview performance.

Physical Requirements:
• Quickly respond to safety instructions, alarms, and signals.
• Ability to stand and work for extended periods.
• Comfortable wearing personal protective equipment.
• Ability to navigate a busy environment.
• Capability to bend, twist, kneel, crouch, and reach.
• Lifting or carrying materials up to 50 lbs. may be required depending on department needs.
• Occasional sitting is needed for certain tasks.
• Ability to operate mobile equipment when necessary.

General Motors offers a competitive compensation and benefits package, along with potential annual incentive payouts for eligible employees.
